Blythe Cottage Garden Café

Blythe Cottage Garden Café is a family run coffee shop situated in Standerwick Nursery on the corner of Main St and Masonic St in Port Alfred, and benefits from the synergy of gardening, décor and food all in one complex; an oasis in the centre of town.

Michael, the chef, delivers delicious home baked carrot cake (which has become legendary), lemon meringue, and scones. There are toasted sandwiches, croissants and a wide selection of traditional and filled pancakes, both savoury and sweet on the menu.  For the more health conscious there are omelettes, granola breakfast jars and salads. Customers have the option of building their own toasted sandwiches, omelette fillings and salads so you can choose the additions you love and avoid the ones you don’t! For those requiring gluten free menu items we have gluten free bread, salads and omelettes. For those wanting a more traditional snack, muffins of the day and Danishes are available. For the hungry there is a gourmet burger, made with Michael’s own recipe beef patties, which is not to be missed.

Our UBER coffee is expertly expressed and served by Bongo, our barista, who is passionate about his job. His cappuccinos are sought after, and there is nothing more refreshing than an iced coffee made with espresso ice cubes on a hot day. The latte art on each cappuccino or iced coffee is a free gift! Oat milk is available if you need to avoid dairy. There are a selection of fruit juices, milkshakes and teas. A chai milkshake is a special treat. 

During load shedding we are able to serve most menu items because we cook on gas, and we can serve filter coffee.
